In the Maumahara Gallery a PopUP exhibition, “EMERGING” showcases the work of Rotorua artist Kelly Shrimpton. This exhibition follows her previous shows, including “Healing My Brain: Post Concussion Syndrome,” “We Need to Talk About Dying,” and “We Need to Talk About Living: Life After Loss.”
The concept of “EMERGING” reflects Kelly’s return to the studio after a hiatus for intense concussion rehabilitation, which involved the use of a “Cocoon” for hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
The exhibition will feature a mix of new and old work, reflecting Kelly’s deeply intuitive approach and her profound understanding of the brevity of life.
