The award-winning, sellout sensation of the summer is coming to the Rotorua’s Government Gardens Band Rotunda this February with another piece of Shakespearean musical magic like you’ve never seen before.
Featuring music from Billy Joel, Outkast and Dave Dobbyn (to name a few), The Barden Party is a troupe of travelling troubadours, presenting a musical, raucous ‘rockabilly retelling’ of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Now they are coming to the Government Gardens Band Rotunda for one show on February 17 at 6pm. Bring a picnic, a blanket and a $20 donation and sit down to enjoy some rollicking great family-friendly fun with the Barden Party. The Barden Party was born in a Nelson backyard during the height of the pandemic as a way to bring joy and laughter safely to people’s homes. Then it became a sell-out across the country, picking up awards and accolades along its 50-show season.
