Whakarewarewa Forest, is five minutes drive away from the centre of Rotorua, is one of the districts most spectacular natural assets.
Famous for its magnificent stand of towering Californian coastal redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens), the forest is most well known for the network of superb mountain biking and walking tracks. Towering trees, along with numerous other species and the fresh forest air, combine to create an invigorating atmosphere and a truly unique and special environment.
